Membership in the Iowa Physician Associate Society
Iowa PAs enjoy one of the most progressive practice environments in the nation due largely to the efforts of the Iowa Physician Associate Society. We can now rely on the benefits of prescriptive practice, third-party reimbursement, hospital privileges, PA peer regulation, and reasonable practice rules, all of which were the result of IPAS legislative efforts over the past 40 years.
As an organization, the main goal of IPAS is to enhance access to quality healthcare for patients. In order to work toward this goal, IPAS monitors legislation affecting PA practice, welcomes new members, and strives to be a responsive and problem-solving organization from which all Iowa PAs can benefit. Health care reform will be a top issue for the whole country. IPAS representatives are already working on health reform committees in Iowa. We need the support of all PAs in Iowa to make sure PAs are at the table when health care reform is discussed over the next year.
