We can now rely on the benefits of prescriptive practice, third-party reimbursement, hospital privileges, PA peer regulation and reasonable practice rules all of which were the results of IPAS legislative efforts over the past 40 years.

As an organization, the main goal of IPAS is to enhance access to quality healthcare for patients. In order to work toward this goal, IPAS monitors legislation affecting PA practice, welcomes new members and strives to be as a responsive and problem solving organization from which all Iowa PAs can benefit. Health care reform will be a top issue for the whole country. IPAS representatives are already working on health reform committees in Iowa. We need the support of all PAs in Iowa to make sure PAs are at the table when health care reform is discussed over the next year.

We hope you will consider lending your support and talents to IPAS. Please complete the membership application and join a society that is continuously making strides to advance the PA profession.
